Community Involvement

At [salon]718, we believe beauty isn't just what you see in the mirror—it’s what we give back in our community. Our salons thrive in Brooklyn’s vibrant neighborhoods, and we are committed to fostering connection, generosity, and upliftment in everything we do. Below are the ways we show up every year to support our neighbors, especially kids, families, and those in need.

Annual Drives & Giving Back

Brooklyn Hospital Cancer Center Collection

Every year, we organize a donation drive for Brooklyn Hospital Cancer Center. We collect essential items and funds to support patients and families going through cancer treatment. It’s one of our deepest commitments—because care and compassion matter.

November — Food Drive

As the cold months approach, we host a community food drive. Non-perishable items are collected at all our Brooklyn locations, and we partner with local food pantries to ensure families in need have support during this challenging season.

December — Toy Drive

During the holidays, we run a toy drive to spread joy to children in Brooklyn. We welcome toy and gift donations at every salon, so that no child is left out of the magic of the season.

Support for Teachers & Students

Teacher Appreciation

Teachers shape futures, and we honor their dedication. Each year, we set aside special events and recognitions for teachers—discounted services, appreciation events, and small gifts—to say thanks for all that they do.

Back to School Events

Getting ready for a new school year should be exciting, not stressful. We help ease the transition with our back-to-school events—free kids’ haircuts, school supplies drives, and opportunites to meet and connect in community settings. These events are for kiddos and families across our Brooklyn neighborhoods.

Enrichment for Youth

Summer Programs for Teens (Ages 12–16)

Our summer offerings are more than fun—they’re formative. We host full-day camps for kids aged 12–16, combining creativity, mentorship, and skills-building. These include:

  • Full Beauty Camp: Participants learn hair techniques, styling, texture work, extensions—everything from caring for different hair types to learning how to do beauty work professionally.
  • Life Skills Workshops & Speaker Events: We bring in guest speakers to talk about financial literacy, self-care, entrepreneurship, and other essential tools for young people stepping into their futures.
