FAQ
How long does a typical hair color appointment take?
- Single-process color takes 1.5 to 2 hours.
- Balayage, foiliage or full highlights require 3 to 4 hours.
What is the difference between highlights and balayage?
Highlights use foils for structured, root-to-tip brightness. Balayage is hand-painted for a soft, lived-in look. Fouliage combines techniques of both.
Will hair coloring damage my hair?
Modern formulas include protective bond-builders to minimize damage. Following our prescribed at-home care routine ensures hair stays healthy.
How often do I need to get my color touched up?
- Root touch-ups are needed every 4 to 6 weeks.
- Foils, foiliage and balayage can last 12 to 16 weeks before needing a refresh.
Can I go from dark brown to platinum blonde in one session?
Drastic changes usually require multiple sessions. This protects your hair's integrity and prevents severe breakage.
Post-Color Care & Maintenance
How long should I wait to wash my hair after a color service?
Wait at least 48 hours before shampooing. This allows the hair cuticle to fully close and lock in pigment.
How do I prevent my hair color from fading?
- Wash with cool water.
- Use sulfate-free, color-safe shampoos.
- Limit heat styling and use a heat protectant.
- Shampoo less often ( use dry shampoo).
Why is my hair turning brassy, and how do I fix it?
- Warm tones naturally expose over time.
- Use a purple shampoo for blondes.
- Use a blue shampoo for brunettes once a week.
